Latest scientific study supports exfoliation for Razor Bumps Prevention

I am subscribed to a number of electronic journals and periodical emails from the Medical field. I particularly pay attention to any new research related to Dermatology and Trichology (The study of scalp and hair health).

The other day I got one of the periodicals which included an article on a recent study at the New York University Langone Medical Center about 'Best Practices for dealing with Razor Bumps..' The report supports exfoliation as a vital practice in the prevention and 'cure' of razor bumps.

While it is great to see actual scientific research that confirms what I have written about several times on this blog, I couldn't help thinking to myself "well, duh, that is quite obvious isn't it?" To be fair, Im not the only person that has blogged about this, but many of us bloggers have shared this information from personal experience and anecdotal evidence only. Now with a 'legitimate' scientific study confirming what we've been saying, I hope more people will take our advice and rid themselves of razor bumps for good.

Of course, exfoliation is only one aspect. To truly rid yourself of folliculitis generally, there are lifestyle changes required. It may seem difficult, but actually razor bumps and folliculitis generally can be cured for ever. The only thing is, it is important to move fast and get rid of them NOW before irreversible scars and keloids develop. Once your scalp is scared and keloids develop, there is little you can do without spending thens of thousands of dollars on risky surgery.
